Our Process
New life to old concrete
Spraytex brings the rustic appeal and architectural flexibility of traditional brick or stone pavers to existing concrete surfaces. The Spraytex concrete re-surfacing system is stylish, strong and incredibly versatile. Spraytex resurfacing readily inter-weaves the rich tones and themes of the Australian landscape to achieve spectacular concrete surfaces.
Because Spraytex may be applied to existing concrete surfaces, the system is the smart choice for anyone wishing to maximise the creative impact of their renovation dollar. Spraytex technology means revitalising tired dull concrete surfaces quickly, credibly and efficiently, at a fraction of the cost of a total pavement replacement.
Available in an array of colours, patterns and textures, Spraytex resurfacing can add beauty to driveways, paths, patios, pool areas and other existing concrete surfaces. If you are looking to add aesthetic value, without the expense and hassle of total pavement replacement - you can trust the Spraytex concrete re-surfacing system to get the job done.
Spraytex is a cement based product which can be applied directly onto existing concrete. Spraytex provides a durable thinset application with superior adhesion qualities. The sprayed concrete product permanently bonds to existing concrete via a combination of cohesion and adhesion to the surface of the cleaned and prepared concrete, penetrating the open concrete pores.
The Spray-on Decorative Overlay system is engineered to combine excellent durability with class-leading abrasion and slip resistance. It is available in many contemporary colours and exciting patterns.
How is it applied?
Spraytex Application is carried out over a number of stages, depending on the condition of the concrete, the amount and degree of cracks, the complexity of pattern/s and the number of colours.
The following points are only a brief overview of our application procedure:
- This cleaning sequence is the most critical stage, as it will determine if the new surface completely bonds, so at this point the entire job is given a high-pressure clean.
- All cracks are then filled in and repaired at this stage with a proven and guaranteed method of crack reduction.
- The entire area is masked off, ensuring there is no "overspray" to surrounding walls etc.
- The next stage is to apply a "base coat" - the first smooth spray coat.
- The pattern is now created using stencils, which can be a very labour intensive process, however there are experienced methods to shorten this lengthy process.
- The top-coat is applied twice, progressively as each layer dries. One of the obvious features with Spraytex is that it has a very fine "aggregate" enabling it to be sprayed through a special purpose Spraytex Hopper Gun.
- Highlights and two-toning are added finally.
- The surface is then stripped to reveal the new exiting finish. As a final means of ensuring lasting quality, two coats of our industrial strength sealer are applied.
While that gives you a brief overview of our process, correct application should never be underestimated. As the old saying goes, a little bit of prevention is better than a whole lot of cure.
So why not think about revitalizing your old concrete now!
