What is Spraytex?

Spraytex is a cementations coating that has been specifically designed and formulated to be applied to the surface of existing concrete, exposed aggregate or pebble-crete. Spraytex is a strong durable spray on paving product that can simulate many exciting effects and a huge range of colours.

How does Spraytex compare to traditional paving?

Spraytex is applied over existing concrete, whereas pavers are laid over a bed of sand. Spraytex is unmatchable in its benefits over paving - no weeds, no warp in the surface, better drainage, more control over style, better colour vibrancy, and its sealed. There is definitely no comparison between the two.

TOP

Where can I use Spraytex?

For best results the existing concrete surface must be of sound or solid condition. Stencil Paving Systems recommends that if the concrete is of poor condition it should be replaced before applying Spraytex - although we have been known to work miracles! It is used on driveways, terraces, carports, pathways, entranceways, entertainment areas, pool surrounds etc.

TOP

How much does Spraytex cost?

Anywhere between twenty dollars to sixty dollars per square metre depending on the size of job, the type of pattern/s, the condition of the concrete, the repairs that are required, the number of colours and access to site and utilities etc.

TOP

Does Spraytex have a warranty?

Yes. When applied in accordance with the manufacturers specifications, Stencil Paving Systems offers a 5-year warranty on the product when used in domestic situations.

TOP

How long can Spraytex last?

Spraytex has been independently tested by the C.S.I.R.O. The results indicate that if Spraytex is applied in accordance with the manufacturers specifications, a service life in excess of 15 years may be expected.

TOP

How thick is Spraytex?

If a single base coat and two top coats of Spraytex are applied the surface may build up to approximately 5mm over the existing concrete.

TOP

What are the colour options?

Colour is used on the basecoat (the finished grout colour), the topcoat (tile colour) and any highlight colours. We have 30 new colours, ranging from vibrant and contemporary colours such as Shale Grey and Tuscany, through to more traditional colours like Terracotta and Coastal Cream. A basecoat is always recommended in the Spraytex process. This is to add uniformity and to improve the overall look of the final job.

What about crack repairs?

Minor cracks can be filled in, so you don't see them.  Crack repairs are common on most jobs, however due to the movement of concrete any repairs can not be guaranteed. Because the sprayed product is a concrete base, your new surface should last as long as you're concrete lasts. Remember that Spraytex is only as good as the substrate.

TOP

How often do I need to reseal?

Your Spraytex surface should be resealed every 18 months to two years with an approved Stencil Paving Systems Spraytex sealer. What about car oil leaks? Not a problem! Each job is completely sealed, similar to varnish on timber. Any oil and grease you simply apply a mild cleaning agent and hose off with water.
